The levels increase in complexity gradually and become multi-layered and often use a variety of puzzles styles or expands from one puzzle to the next. It uses details well and it’s up to the observational skills of its players to decipher the solutions. The gameplay mechanics are done very well. Therefore, the meat of this mobile game is in its great puzzles. When we do find notes, the story is not engaging enough and becomes disjointed due to its lack of completion. However, there is no obligation to find all the notes to proceed, which makes them merely a side quest. There are three notes to find in each level and they can be hidden under rocks or in various artifacts that you can break. The story in Faraway is quite complimentary. On one hand, it does tell a story but on the other hand, it’s an adventure in solving the mysterious puzzles that block the path to the gateway to each successive level. Faraway tells the story of an adventurer who follows the footsteps of their father who disappeared ten years ago and in the ruins of the ancient temples find notes scattered and hidden about. However, what makes a good puzzle game or even a great one? Faraway: Puzzle Escape is one of those that finds a good balance between a visually-appealing and challenging game but not impossible space. In fact, you will find tons of them just on the front page of the App Store or Play Store. Mobile puzzle games are popular in the mobile market. Faraway: Puzzle Escape, developed by PineStudio is a 3D mobile puzzle adventure set in the ruins of ancient temples and a modern tribute to Myst.

“Northgate Link will let thousands of riders get to their destinations on time without sitting in horrendous traffic. “This is a historic day and the start of three years that will transform how people get around our region,” said Sound Transit Chair Kent Keel. Riders exit a Line 1 train at Northgate Station on the first day of service to U District, Roosevelt, and Northgate (Photo: Andrew Villeneuve/NPI) Today’s additions are the most new stations the region has seen simultaneously open at once since the first stage all the way back in 2009. Sound Transit then added four more stations: SeaTac in December 2009 ( Airport Link), Capitol Hill and University of Washington in March 2016 ( University Link), and a second SeaTac station in September 2016 ( Angle Lake Link). The first stage opened in July of 2009, and consisted of twelve stations in Seattle and Tukwila. That line, initially dubbed “Central Link,” ultimately ended up getting built and opening in stages rather than all at once. The inauguration of revenue service on Northgate Link marks the end of the work to deliver the original Sound Move plan approved by voters in 1996, which called for an initial light rail line running from SeaTac to Northgate. Early this morning, in the quiet pre-dawn hours before sunup, Sound Transit opened the doors to three new light rail stations north of Lake Union and the Montlake Cut, completing a twenty-five year effort to bring high capacity, high frequency, and high quality transit service to Seattle’s Northgate neighborhood. The set continued with other rarities like ‘ Nights Are So long’, ‘Shakedown’ and ‘ All Night the Lights On’, which was performed live for the first time ever. Michael Monroe 80’s hits started with one of his best songs ‘ She’s No Angel’, accompanied by fantastic piano work from Lenni-Kalle Taipale. MICHAEL MONROE BAND (Michael Monroe, Sami Yaffa, Steve Conte, Rich Jones, Karl Rockfist, special guest Lenni-Kalle Taipale) That gave me literal chills, I truly hope that the acoustic version of that song is published somewhere someday. During the set change we saw a heartwarming slideshow on the big screen with old pictures from Michael Monroe‘s career and personal life while an absolutely beautiful acoustic version of the Demolition 23 classic ‘ Hammersmith Palais’ played, sang by Monroe. At this point it could be seen that Michael Monroe was taking it fairly easy on stage, clearly saving energy for a show that would last over three hours.Īfter Demolition 23, there was a quick set change to prepare everything for the second part of the night where the current Michael Monroe band performed old 80’s classics from Monroe‘s solo catalog. The Demolition 23 part of the show was short with approximately 20 minutes, but served it’s purpose as a fun start for a long night. The set included classics from the band ‘ Nothings Alright’, ‘Dysfunctional’, ‘You Crucified Me’ and ‘ Hammersmith Palais’ but one song that completely surprised me was the fantastic Demolition 23 cover of the U.K Subs classic ‘ Endangered Species’. The drummer for tonight’s Demolition 23 was Karl Rockfist who was an obvious choice, since he has played Demolition 23 classics live with the Michael Monroe band hundreds of times. Accompanied by the original lineup of Michael Monroe, Sami Yaffa and Nasty Suicide, the only one missing was the original drummer Jimmy Clark whom now works as a drum tech for Metallica, so it’s not surprising that he wasn’t able to make it. The show started with a rare reunion of, in my mind, one of the most underrated punk rock bands ever Demolition 23. DEMOLITION 23 (Michael Monroe, Sami Yaffa, Nasty Suicide, Karl Rockfist) Same thing with the Sneerguy, you cant refuse his offers but you can look that he does as little damage as possible. This tactic helped me until the last level, this one is a little bit harder to win, just trying. If you only hire the mole you get the prices of the last day not the actual standart. Hire the mole start the day and use the magic ink to controll the prices of your opponent. A combination of the mole-spy and the magic ink spell is useful. You can sell the potions for high prices cause you are the only one with this potion at the moment. Its good to have the potion-research ready before your opponent. Now you can loan money again and spend some in advertising and research. Let one day p and the Fairy godmother will give you a second chance and pay the loan shark. Take all the money from the loan shark and buy upgrades and supplies. Why did you put children on a military ship?' The old woman gestured for the officer to take Kaleen away. There was silence as Kaleen touched her face, 'So what have you done with them?' 'So you broke quarantine and this happened to you.' Kaleen bowed her head, a tear welling in her sightless eye. 'And that is when you violated procedure?' 'We thought it was empty but we began to find.' Her face twitched at remembered pain, 'We began to find children hiding in the ship.' It was completely intact, full environmental, as if it had never left.' 'I didn't believe it myself until I stepped aboard the ship. Nothing ever returns from the fold, so I closed the case.' I notified families and filled a report with the inspectors. Kaleen coughed, straightened: 'The Zariman was lost making the fold from Saturn to the Outer gates. 'You were the principal investigator of the Zariman?' Kaleen's voice was a jagged whisper, a rigid face. The old voice: 'Your name is Kaleen.' Kaleen nodded. Her military beret was pulled snug over a scarred and hairless scalp. Her mouth was a sagging gash without lips or expression. Her right eye was bright and blinking, but her left was a greasy slit. There was a gasp as the light hit her face. She hesitated, but only for an instant, then crossed the room and sat. The outline of a young woman appeared at the door. Across the room a security officer, stern and plain, opened the door. An old woman's voice from the shadow: 'Send her in'. Their attention on a single chair, bathed in light. Three figures waited behind a simple table. They were taken away by armed officers." ĭappy has also had many problems in the media with celebrities such as Alexandra Burke, Elly Jackson of La Roux, and Flo Rida. Cabin crew called ahead to the police, who were waiting when the plane landed. A source said: "They were swearing at kids on the plane, being foul and threatening passengers. Three days later (Saturday 31 January) he was taken off a British Airways flight from Edinburgh to London by police after it landed, with fellow N-Dubz performer Fazer, after appearing to be acting disorderly. The police searched his Camden home looking for a gun. On 29 January 2009, Contostavlos was arrested after he someone said he was saying he would kill someone while he had a gun. He was also ordered to pay £50 to the girl and her friend, and £300 costs. He got four weeks' imprisonment, suspended for 12 months and 100 hours community service. He spat in a girl's face while drunk on a night out. In December 2008, Contostavlos pleaded guilty to two counts of assault at Chelmsford Magistrates Court, Essex. When asked in interviews about the single, and these comments he said "these people need to listen to the lyrics, they are about showing appreciation to what you've got". Other newspapers put that he was " idolising thuggery". The silent boy falls instantly to the pavement.", they then went on to put "Do scenes like these suggest that music videos are encouraging their viewers to indulge in criminality?". You wouldn't last a minute where I'm from / You'd go missing / So appreciate what you got / 'cos I'm still wishing.' And then he grabs the rich kid by his coat, pulls him toward him, and punches him in the face. The Independent wrote "His lyrics combine jealousy with anger: 'You got too much to lose / You're in a great position. It was heavily criticised for a scene in which Dappy is stood outside a block of expensive luxury flats with a "rich kid" who is trying to look like a gangster. It was number one on Channel U for several weeks. In 2007 Dappy released Love For My Slum with fellow UK rap artist Baker Trouble. He later said that it "was terrible and it has really taught me to take better care of my ears because I wouldn't be the musician I am today if I couldn't hear." N-Dubz were forced to change some of their live shows from the Uncle B tour after Dappy got temporary deafness. He is a housemate in the 2014 series of Celebrity Big Brother (UK). He refers to his dad as "B" or " Uncle B". Dappy later had the words "RIP Dad" tattooed on his neck. It became the group's best hit at #19, and at #17 in the download charts. When Byron died, the song N-Dubz wrote "Papa (Can You Hear Me?)" was played at his funeral. With the money he made from his time in the band, Bryon set up a small studio for the band. His father, Byron was, to Dappy, the "inspiration behind the band". He later went back to study at college and received a GCSE A* in English. Contostavlos was forced to leave the school when he was 15, for multiple truancies and fighting. Contostavlos and his band-mates studied at Haverstock School. At the time they were called the "Lickle Rinsers Crew". He performed with band members Richard "Fazer" Rawson and Tula "Tulisa" Contostavlos, who is his cousin. He started performing around Camden Town at the age of 13 years old. Dappy showed interest in music from a young age. In an interview he gave to The Sun, he said that the estate he lived on was "rough and lots of the kids I saw got into drugs or fights". He actually lived in a large townhouse because his father was a member of 1970s band Mungo Jerry. It is said that he grew up in a small council flat with his parents and older brother. He normally turns up one side of the hat.Įarly life and current status ĭappy was born in Camden Town, London. His trademark is a selection of woolly fleece lined hats with big pom-poms on the top and strings on the sides. He says he is a " foreign guy that lives in Camden". He does not think of himself to be "English in anyway". His father was the bassist in 1970s group Mungo Jerry.Contostavlos is from Greek origin but speaks fluent English with a classic North London accent. Contostavlos was raised on a Camden Town council estate, North London by his mother, Zoe Contostavlos and father, Byron Contostavlos. Costadinos Contostavlos, better known by his stage name of " Dappy", is an English rapper, singer and songwriter of Greek heritage. In a disordered media, certain regions allow the movement of interfaces more easily than others. In fact, due to capillary forces the interfaces can only move if a certain pressure is applied. Similarly to the yield stress fluid case, the physical reason behind this observation lies in the presence of the heterogeneity. 2021) have shown the existence of a nonlinear flowing regime at low flow rate. In the last decade, however, a series of experiments and simulations (Tallakstad et al. It is then surprising that, during many decades, the models predicting the mean flow rate as function of the mean applied pressure have assumed linear relations (Bear 1988 Dullien 1991). One of the main difficulties lies in the presence of numerous interfaces exerting capillary forces on the fluids present, which makes the dynamic very nonlinear. Multi-phase flow in porous media is a very old and rich subject, and is still the topic of many ongoing researches. If the flow of yield stress fluids in porous media is already a challenging problem, in many situations the complexity is increased by the presence of different immiscible fluids. The flow curve above the threshold depends then on the details of the opening distribution (Nash and Rees 2016). This is, however, not the case in 1D, if one describes the porous media by a series of uniform bundle of capillaries. ( 2019) for 2D porous media is independent from the type of disorder. The origin of this flowing regime is an effect of the disorder, but remarkably the value of the exponent \(\beta =2\) found in a recent work by Liu et al. Where \(\Delta P_c\) is a pressure drop threshold and \(\beta\) a characteristic exponent to be determined. As a consequence, the flow rate Q increases with the applied pressure drop \(\Delta P\) according to a power-law: 2019), a progressive increase of flowing paths occurs. Above this pressure threshold, as demonstrated by several studies (Roux and Herrmann 1987 Talon and Bauer 2013 Chevalier and Talon 2015 Waisbord et al. There is then a strong coupling between the rheology of the fluid and the disorder of the porous structure, implying that some regions are easier to yield than others. Because of the presence of a yield stress, the fluid is able to flow only if a certain amount of pressure is imposed (Roux and Herrmann 1987 Chen et al. 2005 Sochi and Blunt 2008 Talon and Bauer 2013 Rodríguez de Castro and Radilla 2017 Liu et al. 1973 Al-Fariss and Pinder 1987 Chen et al. Yield stress fluid in porous media is a challenging and interesting problem which has been the subject of many studies in the last decades (Entov 1967 Park et al. 2013) or ground reinforcement by cement injection. 2016), stabilization of bone fractures in biomedical engineering (Widmer Soyka et al. These fluids are involved in many practical applications, such as drilling for oil extraction, where proppant fluids are injected in the soil for the fracking process (Barbati et al. Here, we are interested in yield stress fluids, which require a minimal applied stress to flow. 1989 Coussot 2005) or some biological fluids like blood (Popel and Johnson 2005 Bessonov et al. Indeed many complex fluids present a nonlinear rheology as, for example, slurries, heavy oils, suspensions (Barnes et al. In many industrial, geophysical or biological applications related to porous media, non-Newtonian fluids are frequently encountered. We perform numerical simulations confirming our analytical results. We consider two geometries: tubes of sinusoidal shape, for which we derive explicit expressions, and triangular-shaped tubes, for which we find that essential singularities are developed. For a capillary fiber bundle of identical parallel tubes, we calculate the probability distribution of the threshold pressure and the mean flow rate. Furthermore, in the presence of many blobs the threshold value depends on the number of blobs and their relative distances which are randomly distributed. We find that the capillary effects emerge from the non-uniformity of the tube radius and contribute to the threshold pressure for flow to occur. We compute here the yield pressure drop and the mean flow rate in two cases: (i) When a single blob is injected, (ii) When many blobs are randomly injected into the tube. We consider here a generalization of previously obtained results to blobs of non-Newtonian fluids. Fluid blobs in an immiscible Newtonian fluid flowing in a capillary tube with varying radius show highly nonlinear behavior. When the base is cold, add the cream to the base and top with the raspberries placed upside down. Cut out any excess dough, then place the pan back in the fridge to chill for at least 1 hour (or up to 24 hours). Then remove the parchment paper with weights and use a brush to spread a little of the beaten whole egg over the inside of the cooked pastry (base and sides).Place over it a piece of parchment paper cut to size with weights in it and cook in the oven at 180☌ for about 15 minutes (keep an eye on the color). Roll out the pastry and put it in a buttered pan.Cool in the fridge for 30 minutes so that the butter hardens. Add the egg yolk and cold water, then a pinch of salt. When the butter has been completely ‘absorbed’ by the flour, add the confectioners’ sugar. Add flour and salt and stir until incorporated. Using rubber spatula or fork, mix melted butter, sugar, and vanilla in medium bowl. Blend raspberries with water and use as a sauce. Position rack in center of oven and preheat to 375☏. Add raspberries to a salad with chicken and goat cheese. Rub the flour and butter cut into small cubes between your hands. Make a fresh berry salad with raspberries, blueberries, strawberries and blackberries.Line the pastry with greaseproof paper and add baking beans, then bake for 10 minutes. ingredients 1 cup all-purpose flour 1 tablespoon sugar 4 teaspoon salt 6 tablespoons unsalted butter, chilled 1 egg yolk 1 tablespoon water 1 tablespoon. Using pastry tube, squeeze chocolate onto tart in thin. Roll out the pastry and use it to line a loose-bottomed 25cm tart tin or 8 individual 10cm loose-bottomed tart tins. 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips, melted 3 or 4 whole raspberries, if desired. Beat the mascarpone with the finely grated grapefruit and lemon zest. Cover the surface of the crme patissire with cling film or greaseproof paper, then set aside to cool. Whip the very cold heavy cream with the sugar into chantilly. Tip one foot forward more than the other and that’s how you turn and pull off sweet ice skater spins. Continuing to push your heels down will generate backwards movement. Go heel heavy and it stops forward movement. Tip both toes down and the board moves forward. The board works on an axle system where the right and left wheels turn independently of each other, the antithesis of a differential. The motors will try to keep your first foot level when you hop on keep your foot flat, don’t put too much pressure on your toes or heels. Then bring your second foot up, like climbing stairs when you were 3 or 73. Use your dominant foot to step on and position it mid-foot. There are two pads that register your presence on the board. Unlike Segway operations, using the roverboard is more about tipping your feet forward and back as opposed to leaning your full body in. You just think about walking forward and it goes. There’s a moment of wobbliness, but once you start trusting the motors and gyroscopes it feels natural. But within 2 minutes, I had this thing down pat. The entire package was like Lindsay Lohan that one time – barebones.Ĭonfession time. Tough luck if the thing hurts you, it’s your own damn fault for falling on this thing.” The box I got didn’t even have a picture of the board on it. It’s like a big middle finger from China to the US’s legal system. Which is kind of funny because it shows how much China cares about liability. NO WARRANTY, NO INSTRUCTIONS, NO SAFETY INFO. The reason why these specs are approximate is because when I received my rover board, it didn’t come with a manual or any additional documentation. Max speed is 15 KM/HR or about 9 MPH (Avg walking speed = 4mph). When I do have to charge the board it probably takes about 4 hours to fully charge. I’m assuming that the guts of the board is all steel construction with a bonkers Tesla battery or something because it’s pretty robust and weighs a hefty 30lbs. Cool thing is I’ve only had to charge it once this whole week. I’ve been using it in real world conditions and realistically it’s only 5miles. They quote 10 miles (depending on your weight and incline of surfaces rovered on), which is a little wishful thinking, maybe in perfectly flat and smooth conditions can you achieve that figure. They all run on the same rechargeable battery and charger with a weird proprietary connection that I’ve never seen stateside. They also have, more or less, the same specs. A cursory search into Amazon or Google yields many names for this deelio – Rover Board, 2 Wheel Rover, Self balancing scooter, all bring you to the same product. There’s a factory in China that builds all of them and they resell them to different distributors. The tale of Aladdin is born from a hodgepodge of cultural influences - each with an Orientalist viewpointĪladdin had no known source before French writer Antoine Galland stuck it into his 18th-century translation of 1001 Nights. But in fact, Aladdin isn’t a traditional folktale it has a different history, and it’s one that still causing controversy today. Most people think that the story of Aladdin comes from the original 1001 Nights tales, which is a collection of traditional Middle Eastern and Asian folklore. The Council on American-Islamic Relations issued a press release earlier this week asking reviewers and critics to acknowledge that the “Aladdin myth is rooted by racism, Orientalism and Islamophobia” and to “address concerns about racial and religious stereotypes perpetuated by the Disney film.” The new film has, for the most part, managed to shirk much of its inspiration’s exoticism and cultural inaccuracies, but despite Ritchie’s clear efforts to deliver a more respectful version of Aladdin, it may not be enough to satisfy many of its detractors. Although the original movie was a critically acclaimed masterpiece, it was also dripping in Orientalism and harmful racist depictions of Arab culture. The production, helmed by Guy Ritchie, had a hefty amount of cultural baggage to overcome, and has been dogged by controversy and skepticism over its premise and execution since before filming even began.Īll the backlash isn’t entirely the 2019 film’s fault. Disney’s live-action Aladdin, a remake of its 1992 animated film, has finally arrived in theaters, and on one level, it’s something of an achievement. |
